Standard hobby greenhouses by Solar Innovations™ includes:

• One of Solar Innovations™ seven standard colors.
• 3 ¾” aluminum tubular system.
• 8mm polycarbonate glazing. Glazing may be upgraded to 25mm polycarbonate, 3/16” tempered glass, or 1” IG unit made up of 1/8” tempered over 1/8” tempered insulated glass. (Note: A foundation is required with glass units.)
• One 36” x 80” Self Storing Screen Door (either F400 or F600) with kick panel, key lock, and black hardware.
• 38” bay centers.
• Even span units have a 30º pitch.
• Lean-to units have a 14.75º pitch.
• One or two 38” x 24” manual ridge vents (depends on the size of the greenhouse).
• Two 37” awning or sliding windows.

Solar Innovations™ standard Olde English Grower Series includes:

• One of Solar Innovations™ seven standard colors.
• 4 ½” aluminum tubular system.
• 1” insulated glass, made up of 1/8” clear tempered over 1/8” clear tempered with a stainless steel spacer.
• Transom band.
• One insulated door.
• Three windows.
• Decorative extruded gutter.
• Ridge cresting.
• Fully motorized ridge vent.

Solar Innovations™ offers three alternatives in our Olde English Grower Series that provide the ultimate in form and function with an affordable price. The series includes:

• Stratford – a free standing even span unit with hip ends
• Cambridge – a free standing even span unit with two conservatory noses
• Windsor – a free standing even span unit

Since the Olde English Grower Series come standard with 1” insulated glass, it is recommended to install these units with a foundation.

In addition to our standard designs and Olde English Grower Series, Solar Innovations™ offers modified standard hobby greenhouses. This will typically increase the cost of the standard hobby greenhouse by approximately 15-30% or more depending on the amount of customization involved. Our modified standards allow you to order a hobby greenhouse with shorter lead times for quotes, shop drawings, and manufacturing than completely custom units.  This will give you the opportunity to create a cost effective hobby greenhouse with a custom touch. 

We define a "modified standard" structure as one which starts as a standard size and requires minimal modifications. Our modified standards are divided into three options. (Please view the drawings and descriptions below. The green shaded area denotes the modifications.) Please make sure to note the modification option and requirements when requesting a quote. This will help us prepare a more accurate quote.

Hobby Greenhouse Option 1 allows you to alter up to two bay widths by either lengthening or shortening one or two of the end bays.
Hobby Greenhouse Option 2 allows you to raise or lower the height of the hobby greenhouse. This cannot change the roof pitch, only the height of the walls.
Hobby Greenhouse Option 3 is a combination of Options 1 and 2.

We recommend choosing a custom hobby greenhouse if your deviations are more than the options allowed in the modified standard section. Please be aware any deviation from our standards or modified standards typically result in 30-50% or more increase in costs and longer lead times. When designing a custom hobby greenhouse, make sure to verify the local code requirements. Most codes require footings, foundations, and permits when structures are larger than 199 square feet.

• Select one of Solar Innovations™ standard hobby greenhouses.
• Determine the location of the hobby greenhouse.
• Determine the desired use of the structure. Our hobby greenhouses are designed around your location, purpose, and individual horticultural requirements. Please be as specific as possible with the setting of the hobby greenhouse and the types of plant life you will be growing.
• Complete our Quote Request Form. Choose either standard or modified on the form and note the modifications. Be sure to include as much information as possible; all additional details you provide help us supply you with a more accurate quote.
• Submit your quote request online or print out the form and fax or mail it to us. One of our estimators will contact you within 1-2 business days after we have received the request and reviewed it.
