Orangeries by Solar Innovations™
Developed as status symbols in the late 1600s, orangeries are intended to provide a protected place and tropical growing environment to nurture oranges during cold winter months or in cooler climates. Lime, lemon, mango, and pineapple plants can also be grown in this environment. Orangeries tend to follow a more classic architectural form including large, open windows, grids or simulated divided lites, and classic glazing options.
In past years orangeries were heated by coal stoves, but as a modern day twist to a European classic, heating and watering units are available from Solar Innovations™ to create the tropical environment expected within an orangery with little concern for daily maintenance.

Orangeries have become sanctuaries for dining, family entertainment, or personal relaxation, and utilize furniture and accessories carried forward from the design of the main structure. For a functional environment, any of Solar Innovations™ custom door and window options can be incorporated into the living space.
