Contemporary Greenhouses

Solar Innovations® specializes in creating custom greenhouses; highly decorative or minimalist. A contemporary styled greenhouse can help to accentuate a building’s façade. A traditional greenhouse features ridge cresting, decorative base panels and grid work. In contrast, a modern greenhouse varies drastically in design.

Glass area is the most prevalent design component that would classify a greenhouse as “contemporary”. Traditional greenhouse ornamentation disrupts the flow of glass; while, a contemporary room has large spans of glass. Wide or tall bays, narrow glass bays, or a narrow design will deliver a modern appearance. Clean line greenhouses utilize mullions, which are thicker than grids and physically divide panes of glass into individual pieces. Curved eave greenhouses often evoke a modern flair as round elements are a defining aspect of contemporary design.

Each structure is constructed out of thermally enhanced aluminum framework that will not rot, rust, warp, or require constant finish maintenance. Solar Innovations® offers five standard paint options and two anodized finishes. Any custom color can be created for a unique, modern appearance, at an additional price. Cladding options can be applied to the frame, including copper and stainless steel, which create an industrial or commercial look. Low-e glass is often utilized in greenhouses to reduce the amount of direct sunlight in. Orchids and other tropical plants benefit from this method immensely.

In the greenhouse, functions remain the same, regardless of appearance. Solar Innovations, Inc. offers a complete range of greenhouse accessories, including benches, circulating fans, water solutions, heating and cooling; along with automated venting and shading. All accessories can operate together using an environmental control system. This will allows owners to leave the greenhouse unattended, while on vacation.
