Glass Roof Lanterns and Dormers
Traditional Feel with Functional Features
Solar Innovations, Inc. provides the finest aluminum roof lanterns and dormers available in the industry today. Both systems provide natural light and are designed to match the architecture of the structure. Roof lanterns sit atop a roof and project upward, while dormers project outward from the roof.
Glass dormers and lantern systems can be integrated into conservatories, pool and spa enclosures, and greenhouses. Another option is to install a glass unit on a traditional construction roof. Hip end, double pitch, dome, pyramid, and polygon configurations are all available. In many cases, roof lanterns incorporate transoms, decorative accessories, and grids. Dormers tend to be smaller than roof lanterns but still use ridge cresting and a finial.
Roof lanterns are designed in numerous configurations: conservatory nose, hip end, double pitch, dome, pyramid, and polygon. In many cases, roof lanterns incorporate transoms, decorative accessories, and grids. Solar Innovations, Inc. provides roof lanterns in 7 standard colors, Class I Clear Anodized, and Dark Bronze Anodized aluminum. Custom color finishes for roof lanterns are also available. If a lantern requires additional detail, Solar Innovations, Inc. utilizes custom metal finishes including Copper, Stainless Steel, and Simulated Lead Coated Copper Cladding.

Roof Lanterns are also available with wood interior options. Decorative finials, cresting, gutters, pediments, grids, and transoms can all be added to the roof lanterns' design to meet the creative tastes of each customer. There are endless glazing options which are inserted into aluminum framing. The most popular choices are LoE tints. This option helps to better insulate the room; the room will remain warmer in winter and cooler in summer. LoE options also assist to reduce the fading of furnishings, fabrics, and flooring inside a space. Decorative glazing such as acid etches or v-groove patterns are also available choices for dormers and roof lanterns.
Solar Innovations, Inc. leads the industry in operable accessory options for roof lanterns and dormers including ridge and eave vents that integrate perfectly into our system designs. Operation of the vents can be either a manual or motorized function. Roof lantern ventilation systems, rain sensors, thermostats, and remote control options can be integrated into a unit. Manual or motorized shade systems are utilized in certain applications to help control light and temperature within the structure.
