SI1000 Screen Systems by Solar Innovations, Inc.
Screen systems by Solar Innovations, Inc. are available in five models to suite your job’s requirements. The five models are folding, sliding, fixed, screen room and retractable. Whatever type of application you may have, Solar Innovations has the screen to fit.
The standard screen material is charcoal fiberglass, but aluminum and other custom screening options are also available. Solar Innovations, Inc. full perimeter pile and gasket seal around the complete screen creates a superior bug resistant barrier. We also offer storm doors with a removable monolithic panel that can be replaced by a screen for seasonal changes.

Folding screens mimic the flow of a folding door. All of the panels will slide to either the left or the right, and will fold flush against a wall. Operable doors can be added to the units, just as in a regular folding door unit. The operable door allows a person to pass through the system without having to open all of the panels. Folding screen panels can also be used an outdoor room, such as a sunroom or pool house. This allows you to enjoy nature during pleasant weather. There are numerous screen options available. The standard screen is charcoal gray in color and is a mesh material. Available options include differing colors, and weave tightness. Sliding screens are used on large openings. Most commonly found in conjunction with either sliding doors or folding doors. The screen is placed on the exterior of the door. Each system has operable and fixed panels. The operable panels will slide behind the fixed panel. This allows for easy passage and direct flow of air into the room. When in the closed position the entire opening is covered with screen panels. A sliding screen door can be utilized in front of a folding door system. The benefit to this is the reduction in cost as compared to a folding screen unit. The sliding screen will retract to either the left or the right and when fully open, only the fixed panel(s) are visible. Another common application of sliding screen systems is when they are incorporated into a screened porch. Instead of enclosing a screen with glass, screens can be utilized. This allows the outdoor area to be used in comfortable weather. The bugs can be held at bay when needed and then the panels can be slid open, and the porch is open again. |

Fixed screens are used on operable windows. This type of frame is what is typically found in homes and businesses worldwide. The screen frame is attached and cannot fold, slide or move. A fixed screen is used in conjunction with casement windows, awning windows, hopper windows and tilt turn windows. A fixed screen can also be placed on an operable skylight or ridge vent. The previous two applications will have an interior mounted screen. Casement, awnings and hopper windows have screens on the inside of the frame, closest to the interior room. Screens on tilt turn windows are placed on the exterior because the window will open to the interior. Utilizing a screen allows the fresh air into the room, without the nuisance of insects. Retractable screens can be utilized on any opening, and is an excellent choice where space is a concern. Retractable screens operate just like they sound. The system moves either horizontally or vertically. The horizontal units consist of individual pleated panels. All the panels are pushed to the left or right, leaving a clear opening. When the panels are open, a person can pull apart 2 panels in the middle and pass through, an option not available with fixed or sliding screens. Vertically retractable screens consist of a solid screen material. These screens cover the entire opening and move up and down by the push of a hand or by a motor. Vertically retractable screens are smooth, not pleated. The view through the screens is more clear compared to the horizontal because there are no pleats, but you have to open the entire unit to pass through to the next room. There are numerous choices when picking the screen material. The standard screen is charcoal gray in color and is a mesh material. Available options include differing colors, and weave tightness, and screen materials. Specific insect screens and cat scratch resistant materials are available. A common question when a customer is considering glass doors are what kind of screens are available? Instead of using only the charcoal colored insect screen which keeps out the bugs, Retractable combination screens are made out of a solid fabric. Each unit has one or two panels which slide on a track. There are not pleats with multiple bars in the middle of the fabrics. creating more clarity when viewing the outside world. A traditional insect screen is also available and combination units with a screen and a blind are options. Retractable combination Screens provide privacy and protection from pests. This screen is for interior use only. This blind design is especially useful when privacy is desired. Homes and businesses located alongside a sidewalk or highway use these blinds to retain their privacy. During the day, visibility is almost nonexistant with the blind design. At night, when lights are turned on inside a building, silhouettes exist. This is not a true privacy blind. While a silhouette is visible, details are not apparent. The blinds come in white, sand, light grey, dark grey, dark brown and charcoal colored fabrics with clear anodized, bronze and white frame finishes. Openings up to 24’0” can be sheltered with the screen or blind units. An individual panel may be up to 12’0” in length. Two panels will be combined to create the 24’0” length where they meet and latch in the middle of the opening. The blind system can be up to 9’0” in height and the screen has a maximum height of 10’0”. When the units are opened the panels will stop where you place them, they do not slam back to the frame. Both the blind and screen options can be used in conjunction with terrace doors, folding walls and sliding doors. |
