Solar Innovations® offers a variety of shade systems to complement any structure including greenhouses, conservatories, sunrooms, and pool enclosures. Our exterior and interior shade systems are available in both sloped and vertical applications with either manual or automated operation. These shade systems offer supplementary options in addition to our high performance glass to give you complete control of your structure's environment. Interior shade systems are available in a roman fold design and shades composed of premium hardwood that are woven together to create a beautiful natural shade. These shades may be manual or motorized and also come in a variety of colors to match the interior decor of your enclosure.

Interior shading, can provide the greenhouse owner with additional options to meet their needs. Hobby or residential greenhouses often employ interior shading systems that follow the roof line directly while larger greenhouses either run truss-to-truss or gutter-to-gutter.

When installing a gutter height shading system, greenhouse control components, like fans, foggers, grow lights, etc., must be considered in the design. Exhaust and circulation fans placed above the curtain system’s height will become ineffective when shades are extended. Choosing a truss-to-truss system, which follows the roofline more closely, will avoid this interference.

Exterior shades systems are available in fixed or operable options. The fabric of our exterior operable shades is elevated 8" off the glass surface allowing circulation of air under the fabric, which helps reduce solar contact to the glass, while providing adequate amounts of shade. With a flick of a switch this shade system will automatically extend and retract using a motor. Add the optional automatic sun and wind controls and the awning will extend and retract automatically with the elements.

Roll-up systems are operated to maintain a specific level of luminance within the greenhouse, while fixed shade systems are particularly effective for greenhouses with shade seeking plants. Fixed shade systems aid in the control of extreme heat during high heat periods as they continually block sunlight within the structure.

A vinyl coated, fiberglass, solar guard shade system blocks approximately 70% of the sun's light, reducing your cooling costs and energy consumption year round. These shades come in your choice of silver, gray, bronze, or charcoal fabric.
