Misting and Drip Systems

Misting systems are a practical way to keep your plants well watered by providing an even layer of water over the vegetation. Misting systems by Solar Innovations™ are available either semi or fully automatic. The automatic systems are set on timers or monitors that trigger the misters when the humidity or water content drops below predetermined levels. Semi automatic misting systems can be turned on or off restricting the hydration as needed. The manual system is controlled to regulate the duration and flow rate of water. 

Another option for watering is our drip system. The drip method slowly applies water directly onto the soil. Water then soaks into the soil before it has a chance to evaporate.  Drip systems provide convenience to greenhouse owners as they can be integrated into hanging and table plants with ease.  These flexible units can increase plant uniformity while decreasing costs through accurate watering.  By ensuring that water comes in contact only with soil, pesticides and plant enhancers administered on the leaves and foliage will be protected. 

Please be sure to research what variation is best to water your specific types of plants. Some vegetation requires the drip system over the misting and vice versa.  There are several steps in determining the correct hydration system for each greenhouse.  First and foremost, the hydration system layout is affected by additional accessories, shades, benches and hangers, which must be considered when selecting a misting or dripping system.  The number of sprinkler heads necessary for each application is partially determined by the area of plants which must be watered and the level of each segment’s hydration needs.  Solar Innovations™ will work with you, and the above information, to provide the ideal hydration system for your greenhouse. 

These solar misting controls will trigger the system to mist with the changes in sunlight. They can also be wired to a thermostat to mist with the changes in temperature. The misting is adjusted by a standard controller that can be programmed down to the second. Misting controls offered by Solar Innovations™ feature several benefits including: nighttime misting for dry climate or bottom heat, misting mode and irrigating mode for all zones, and the solar sensor.
In addition, to misting and dripping systems which place moisture directly onto plants, Solar Innovations™ offers fogging and humidification systems which provide moisture to the overall greenhouse environment.
