Turnquist

  • Location: Massachusetts
  • Ridge/Slope Height: 9 1/2'
  • Length/Projection: 9'
  • Width/Diameter: 8'
A residential application, the Turnquist project is a straight eave, double pitch hobby house with one gable end. The hobby house is constructed with a four and one half inch aluminum system in White and 25 millimeter Clear polycarbonate.

Accessories for the Massachusetts-located hobby house include one three-bay operable ridge vent, two awning windows, and a terrace door.
Hobby greenhouses are simple to install, easy to upgrade, and can be designed to meet virtually any building code. In addition, these units can be customized with numerous accessories and decorative options. Hobby greenhouses, unlike permanent greenhouses, are able to be moved if necessary.

Hobby Greenhouses by Solar Innovations™ are designed for simple installation. Using either treated posts (4" x 4" or 6" x 6") or railroad ties and earth anchors, where allowed by code, often eliminates the need for costly permits. Unlike most other greenhouses, our hobby greenhouses can be easily upgraded and transformed into permanent structures by affixing them to foundations.

Typically, greenhouses must be smaller than 200 square feet to be legally constructed without a foundation. Polycarbonate must be used for structures without footed foundations.
