Mountlake Terrace High School Greenhouse

  • Location: Mountlake Terrace, Washington
  • Ridge/Slope Height: 16'
  • Length/Projection: 30'
  • Width/Diameter: 26'
The Mountlake Terrace High School has added a beautiful straight eave, double pitch greenhouse for the students' educational and horticultural pursuits. This greenhouse utilizes polycarbonate instead of standard glass, to add a different feel and more functionality to the structure.
Polycarbonate is a strong alternative or compliment to traditional glazing that will provide both translucent and semi-opaque options. When coupled with Solar Innovations’® aluminum systems, the polycarbonate will provide a durable structure, window, or door that will last throughout the ages.

Polycarbonate is particularly useful for commercial buildings as it can help to diffuse light to achieve the overall lighting effect desired. Polycarbonate can also be integrated into glass glazed structures to provide higher R-values in the roof while glass is used in the vertical glazing to allow for a completely unobstructed sight line.
