Wind Energy

Wind Energy by Solar Innovations, Inc.

Wind energy is growing rapidly as a viable source of renewable energy. Although site locations are more refined a Wind Turbine can be a financially smart investment.

There are a few site requirements or ideals to be aware of including:
  • Property is at least ½ acre with an unobstructed view; although variances can occur for properties less than ½ acre.
  • Average wind speed for your area is 10mph or higher. Best results tend to occur at 12mph or more.
  • Local zoning laws allow structures that are at least 42’ tall. There may be variances in your area with exemptions for wind turbines.eeeeeeeee
We will work with you to be sure that your property is a viable option for the installation of a wind turbine. Siting a wind turbine is more complex than siting solar and some other renewable energy solutions. However, when you have a proper site for a wind turbine the investment is superb. As a certified Southwest Wind power dealer we use the industry standard Skystream 3.7 Wind Turbine which has a rated capacity of 2.4kwh and will produce roughly 350kwh a month with averages of 12mph wind speeds.

Solar Innovations, Inc. also understands that the Skystream 3.7 does not always match every customers needs. That's why we work with manufacturers and distributors to offer multiple other turbine options, including the 3.5kw Raum Turbine. With Solar Innovations you can be guaranteed experienced designers and installers to make sure your wind turbine project goes without hitch.
