CNC Machine Center Operator

Operate modern computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts (HAAS Mills and dual spindle lathes). Load parts in machine, cycle machine, and detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Program and perform custom machining of lineals.

Additional Skills

Previous experience with HAAS and/or Elumatec CNC Machinery a plus.

Installer / Crew Leader Trainee
We are a growing Company seeking safety-conscious individuals to join our Installation Team. Crew members have the unique opportunity to learn a specialized trade, and work with projects ranging in size from a small residential replacement window to luxury boxes at a sports stadium. Solar Innovations, Inc. is seeking team members at various levels of experience, and is willing to train entry level candidates that are self-motivated, willing to learn, and a self starter. Candidates must be willing to travel, both for day trips and multiple day overnight trips. In addition, candidates must have a valid driver’s license, as this role will be expected to operate Company vehicles. This is a great opportunity to install unique structures in exciting locations (coastal regions, estates, sports stadiums, etc).

Summary of Position

  • Work under the direct supervision of the Installation Crew Leader to erect and install Solar Innovations, Inc.’s basic custom glass enclosures and operable door and window systems.
  • Work with other crew members to load and unload Company trucks for each respective job, while taking the utmost care when handling each customer’s product.
  • Follow all Departmental and Company safety policies, ensuring safe working practices are a top priority on a daily basis.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, ear plugs, protective tipped boots, fall protection equipment, hardhats, and back braces as needed; and follow all necessary safety procedures, including crane operating safety and hazard communication.
  • Travel to jobsites that are typically within 1 – 6 hours of Solar Innovations, Inc.’s facility; overnight travel will also be required.
  • Complete DOT training to become certified to drive Company vehicles (non-CDL) when needed.
  • Understand and follow the Hours of Service Regulations that cover all DOT drivers (< 26,001lb. vehicles), with regards to the amount of time drivers are able to operate a vehicle within a given time period.
  • Complete a daily driver’s log and timesheets for hours worked.Interact with other departments, such as Project Management and Fabrication, to ensure that all shipped items are accurately accounted for.
  • Possess the general ability to read blueprints, to ensure that installation is completed as per the approved drawings.
  • Follow all clearly defined procedures and review installation manuals as needed to limit unnecessary rework.

Addition information about the role:

  • Schedules are typically a 4-day workweek, with overtime possibilities.
  • In addition, there are limited prevailing wage project opportunities.
  • Accepting applications for multiple levels of experience, from entry level to supervisor trainee and/or crew leader, with the opportunity to grow as experience is gained.

Additional Skills

Office Positions


Recruiting & Development Specialist

This position will be cross trained in other areas besides the functions listed below to assist with other departmental areas as needed. 

Summary of Position

  • Research and help to establish and enforce a remote working policy, which will focus on providing flexibility and accountability.
  • Provide feedback for current and future incentive programs, which will incorporate departmental and company KPIs, as well as individual performance.
  • Facilitate the review process at all levels of the organization by establishing the plan, implementing the process, and completing follow-up meetings with team members to ensure feedback is being heard and changes executed continually.
  • Assist in the employee career development process by updating and maintaining the organizational succession plan and communicating with employees to ensure personal development is ongoing (requirements to progress, milestones, etc.).
  • Communicate findings to the President and management team for further evaluation
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine and implement corporate training initiatives, in an effort to improve organizational efficiency and engagement (training topics will range from communication and organization to job specific requirements).
  • Assess individual employee skill inventories to locate other training solutions.
  • Work to improve company-wide culture.
  • Assist with higher level recruitment.
  • Contact schools and associations to build relationships for continuous recruiting.
  • Set up methods to track and follow potential applicants and sources for applicants
  • Utilize social media functions to attract candidates
  • Help to develop Epicor and Switchboard employee databases to track communications and employee development.

  • Meet applicants off or onsite when schedule allows.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 2 – 3 years of training experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 – 3 years of recruiting all levels of positions, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.

Engineer

Summary of Position

  • Design and engineer commercial and residential curtain walls, skylights, specialty windows and doors, and aluminum/wood structures for projects nationwide and internationally.
  • Create 3-D models of projects utilizing STAAD and other 3-D Modeling Software.
  • Review approved drawings and fabrication packages to determine that they meet engineering criteria specified by building codes to minimize expense, design, and fabrication issues.
  • Analyze basic structures and glazing, and utilize software to determine structural connections and thermal analysis.
  • Apply knowledge of structural design, materials, design definition principles, and regulatory/qualification environments to create structural designs of products and improve a product’s design for manufacturability.
  • Assist with Research and Development for new products and hardware.
  • Opportunity to work under P.E.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Structural and/or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Candidate must be organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.

Marketing

We are a growing company seeking individuals to join our expanding Marketing Team; 98% of the Company’s marketing functions are handled in-house (web, collateral development, copywriting, editing, tradeshow preparation, etc.). We will consider candidates at various levels of experience for roles varying in responsibility; position focus will be based on a blend of the candidate’s background and department needs.

Summary of Position

  • Responsible for project development and management with direct relation to online marketing.
  • Provide web design feedback and maintain all web media.
  • Spearhead the Company’s social media initiatives, improve Solar’s SEO, and find ways to improve the Company’s overall web presence.
  • Assist with e-marketing and email campaigns, identify forums/blogs topics of interest and respond knowledgeably to drive leads and link backs.
  • Effectively create interactive online media and e-books from print media content.
  • Complete market research and analysis.
  • Efficiently mine the web and competitors’ literature for innovative marketing concepts.
  • Review the market/competitors to identify trends in place and those for future products and marketing.
  • Competently track research for reporting and for future use and review.
  • Ensure correct use of grammar, style, and data to develop newsletter articles, blogs, and press releases.
  • Assist with print media design and implementation as time permits.

Required Skills/Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess superior communication skills (both oral and written) and be self motivated, eager to succeed, and determined.

  • Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Web Development, or related field preferred.
  • Applicants proficient in Adobe CS4 or CS5 and WordPress, as well as the Microsoft Suite preferred.
  • Attention to detail and experience with tight deadlines are crucial to the position.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills requires.

IT – Programmer

Summary of Position

* Primary responsibilities include development, testing, user training, and acceptance of configuration based software in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

* Essential deliverables include Customer quotation information, lead time constraints, proposal documentation, material and labor requirements and fabrication reports.

* Maintenance of legacy systems written in Microsoft Excel Vba and Microsoft Access Vba.

* Assist with and direct troubleshooting for any of the software packages, computer systems, telecommunication systems and the network.
* Develop reports as needed using Crystal Reports and other custom report writing software.

Successful candidates will utilize strong project management and team skills with the ability to drive, prioritize, and proactively address potential issues with the clarity of vision to develop and deploy new and efficient processes.

Skills/Qualifications
* Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

* Utilize enterprise level hardware and network knowledge to maintain switches, servers, wireless networks, inventory hardware and desktop/laptop computers.
* Maintain remote technologies, including Remote Desktop and VPN connections, in addition to thin clients and terminal servers.

* Maintain and troubleshoot network security.

* Maintain and troubleshoot Outlook Email Client, Exchange Server and SharePoint Server

Engineering Technician / Drafter

We are a growing company seeking individuals to join our expanding Drafting & Design Team. Engineering Technicians have a unique opportunity to create custom 2D and 3D architectural drawings for many different customers on a daily basis. Team members will have the potential to specialize in structures, windows/doors, or a mixture of both product lines.

Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, proficient skills in AutoCAD, and basic Microsoft product computer skills, including Outlook and Office Suite. Self motivated, eager to succeed, and determined candidates will be best suited for this position.

Summary of Position/Area of Focus

  • Develop accurate and detailed submittal drawings and fabrication packages that will be utilized for layout and fabrication.
  • Review engineering specifications to ensure that project information is drafted accurately and in a timely manner in accordance to engineering requirements.
  • Identify, locate and update all appropriate product information related to the standard configurations and/or company standards for production.
  • Develop the ability to perform simple layouts, details, fastener lists, and cutlists for fabrication, using personal discretion to update and make suggestions for possible design and product improvements.
  • Work with architects, builders, and end users to discuss design concepts and convert ideas into final drawings.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Candidate must be organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
  • 2 or 4 year degree required.
  • Intermediate experience with AutoCAD (2D and/or 3D) and Excel is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
  • Attention to detail and experience with tight deadlines are crucial to success in the position.
  • Must be capable of taking direction and constructive criticism, and help to guide the team as a whole.
